Our vision is:

  • To be welcoming to all people
  • To be a church of friends – devoted to God and each other
  • To be committed to bringing the love and good news of Jesus to all
  • To see lives changed through the power of the Holy Spirit
  • To equip and encourage Christ’s people to do His ministry
  • To allow God to use us, in whatever way He chooses, to glorify Jesus, His son, through the activity of the Holy Spirit

Prayer Walk In Aboyne

We are planning on a prayer walk Wednesday 6th September, meeting in the lower square at Aboyne (outside Spider on a Bicycle) at 7:30 pm. A chance to plead with the Lord for our area!

"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." Luke 11:9,10

Prayer Walk in Aboyne

We plan to meet in the lower square (beside the old train station) on Wednesday 31st May for a prayer walk around Aboyne. The plan is to gather at 7:30pm.

This is a great chance to pray over an area close to our hearts - and get a little exercise too ...

Why Jesus - study for Lent

Why Jesus?
On the four Wednesdays of Lent, leading up to Easter, we are hosting discussion evenings on ‘Why Jesus’ in the Boat Inn Aboyne.
These will be very informal and relaxed meetings open to everyone. We will begin with a short DVD to stimulate a variety of discussion on the topic of ‘Why Jesus’.
The main questions being asked are –
•    Did he really exist?
•    If so, was he a hero, a revolutionary, a dreamer, the underdog, or just a good mad?
•    Is he around today?
•    If so, is he of any relevance to us in today world?
The meetings will be held in the upstairs room of the Boat Inn, (accessed through the public bar).
Take your drink upstairs with you and we will supply the nibbles, coffee will be served at 8.30pm.

Dates of meetings
Wednesday evenings – 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd  March 2017
Upstairs room in the Boat Inn, Charleston Road, Aboyne, AB34 5EL

What are we up to this Christmas?

On Saturday 17th we have our Christmas get together. This will be an evening of eating, singing and fun. Hope you can join us, there will be plenty food, so just turn up.

Earlier in the day we will also be on the streets of Aboyne giving away our small Christmas tree ornaments (see picture) and hot mince pies.

We will also be giving away food hampers in the area to those who could use a little help at this time of year.

Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into

your hands—all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you.”

                                                                                                                                                                                         Luke 6:38

We then have a break over the holiday period, meeting again on the 7th January 2007 - fortnightly thereafter.

We wish you and your families a peaceful Christmas and  blessed 2017.

Prayer walking around Aboyne

As part of our service to the area we invite folk to join us as we ‘prayer walk’ around Aboyne. This is an opportunity for us to get out there to do something practical as well as enjoyable. We meet at the scout hut at 10:45am for an 11am start. We walk for an hour, in groups of two or three, praying for the people; the businesses; concerns and whatever God puts in our minds. Don’t worry, we will not be stopping people or trying to pray for people. No one will know what we are doing unless they ask or you want to tell them. This is a great opportunity ask God to bless this area so please come and join us in this simple but effective task. We will keep you informed regarding the dates for these walks but encourage you also consider doing this with friends on an informal basis.

Communion at home

Recently we have looked at the subject of Communion and how the early church in Acts 2

broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

As many will know we have used a Wednesday evening for small group study and prayer. We feel however that we would like to offer time for Communion in the homes of any who would like to have it. This would be on a Wednesday from 7.30 for up to an hour. This time could involve worship, bible reading, Communion and prayer/blessing for the family. If you would like to have a small group come and arrange Communion in your home then please let us know and we can make suitable arrangements. We feel God will bless and honour this act.
